Here are a few simple ways you can break out of an artistic
rut:
-
Get out and do things. Participate. Meet people.
Volunteer. Visit art galleries and museums. Walk in the
park once a week. Spend time with your family and friends.
Go camping. Visit another country. Make your greatest
creation that of a full life for yourself.
-
Learn new things. Take classes, not just in your own
field. Study something new and different, or take up a
hobby such as gardening, collecting, hiking, genealogy or
Chinese cooking. Inspiration for your art is everywhere.
-
Feed your head. Read everything. Read the newspaper every
day. Some of the best and most creative ideas are born
from the pages of the morning paper. Read fiction or books
and magazines about your craft, your specialties and your
hobbies and interests outside of your craft.
